13 YEARS OF
MUSIC & SOUL
From the first mixtape to the last glass poured after midnight,
Hemingway’s has never been just a bar.
It has been a living conversation between music, risk, and truth.
Thirteen years of staying upright.
Thirteen years of choosing family over ego.
Thirteen years of believing that authenticity still matters.

13 Years of Hemingway’s — Music, Nerve & Magic
Two siblings. Early twenties.
A suitcase full of dreams. Maybe a guitar.
We came from Greece to Linz — young, restless, naïve enough to believe we could build something that mattered. We didn’t know what was waiting for us. But we knew what we wanted: a place that feels alive.
A place where music isn’t background noise — where strangers become regulars, and regulars become family.
That place became Hemingway’s. A small independent cocktail bar with an unreasonable amount of soul.
Over thirteen years. Nearly 300 live nights. Countless soundchecks. Broken glasses. Standing ovations.
We do everything ourselves — booking the bands, designing the posters, testing the sound, pouring the drinks, wiping the bar at 3AM.
Because this was never just hospitality. It was cultural stubbornness.
From day one, we kept our concerts accessible. No velvet ropes. No artificial exclusivity. Because culture should not be a luxury product. It should be a shared pulse.
Thirteen years later, we’re still behind the bar. A little older. Slightly wiser. Still foolish enough to believe in live music.
And every time the first chord hits — we know: it was worth it.
Thank you for listening. Thank you for dancing. Thank you for being part of this.
To many more nights.
To art. To chaos. To connection.
To Hemingway’s.

WHO WE ARE
Born Between Two Countries.
Raised by Stories.
We’re the Michou family — shaped by Greece, refined in Austria, and proudly trained in the fine art of people by Hemingway’s Bar in Linz. We learned that real luxury isn’t marble or mood lighting. It’s a place that feels like exhale — and hosts who know when to speak, when to listen, and when to bring water before you even ask.
Our Roots
Greece in our blood, Austria in our discipline. We grew up between sun and structure — where spontaneity is sacred and craft is respected. (Yes, we can be warm and organized. Miracles happen.)
Our Real Education
Hemingway’s Bar taught us timing, atmosphere, and the psychology of a room. Strangers became friends over a good song and a good drink — and we discovered the truth: the best hosting is not performance, it’s presence.
Our Promise on Lemnos
Calm with character. Boutique homes without pretension. Retreat experiences without spiritual drama. Just honest beauty, island rhythm, and space to breathe — the kind that makes you stay “one more day”.
“True hospitality isn’t about impressing people. It’s about making them feel slightly more themselves than when they arrived.”
When the Lights Go Off,
the Real Business Begins.
People romanticize family businesses like they’re warm bread and Sunday hugs. Truth is: a family business is a love story written in deadlines, exhaustion, and unpaid emotional labor.
What really happens after closing time
- Arguments that aren’t about money — but about belonging.
- Roles that blur: sibling, boss, employee, therapist, witness.
- Silences that feel louder than the music you just turned off.
- The strange truth: you can win the day and still lose each other.
Why working with family is a high-stakes risk
- Because you can’t “clock out” of history.
- Because respect is not an automatic family benefit.
- Because love doesn’t replace boundaries — it demands them.
- Because success means nothing if the bond doesn’t survive it.
“A family business doesn’t just test your skills. It tests your nervous system — and your loyalty to each other.”

WHAT IS SOUL BOTOX?
Soul Botox is not a beauty tutorial.
It’s a thinking salon for your soul — with ink, sound, and temperament.
A journal of reflections, stories, and snapshots — sometimes philosophical, sometimes humorous, often somewhere in between.
Here, life is unpacked layer by layer, without filters and without a rigid script.
A space for the curious, the contemplative, and those who prefer life imperfect — but real.
Hemingway’s
WHERE THE NIGHT THINKS OUT LOUD
You don’t come here for silence.
You come for the pulse beneath the bassline,
for strangers who feel like unfinished stories,
and for that kind of jazz that forgives everything.
Since 2012, we’ve been serving
laughter, rhythm, and rebellion — in equal parts.
No entrance fee. No pretending. Just soul.
PUBLIC FACE · PRIVATE FIRE
Mask On.
Myth Alive.
We all wear masks.
Some call it professionalism.
Some call it survival.
Mine isn’t hiding anything.
It’s framing the story.
By day, I translate chaos into care.
By night, I turn noise into rhythm.
The mask doesn’t silence me.
It amplifies intention.
Unmasking is not exposure — it’s authorship.

MARINA MICHOU JOURNAL

Stay Highdrated – Mythos in Motion
Marina Maria Michou lives between dance floors, bar counters, and therapy rooms. By day, she works as a social educator & health angel in Vienna. By night, she becomes bartender, choreographer, and professional observer of human chaos.
When she’s not decoding movement patterns with children, she serves philosophy in liquid form at Hemingway’s Bar: coffee for those who still know what they want, and cocktails for those who’ve decided to forget.
She believes in the healing power of music, touch, and impeccable timing. In honest conversations between espresso and tequila. And in the idea that every human being carries their own rhythm — you just have to turn the volume up high enough.
Somewhere between myth and daily reality, Marina dances where pedagogy, poetry, and party collide. She doesn’t call it a profession. She calls it field research.
